CollegeWeekLive, the worlds leading website for connecting students with colleges, invites students from around the world to CollegeWeekLive INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS DAY, a complimentary event to be held live online Wednesday August 21st from 5 AM and 7 PM EDT. The event provides students that are planning to attend college an opportunity to learn more about colleges in the United States and other countries.
The number of international students at colleges and universities in the United States increased by six percent to a record high of 764,495 in the 2011-2012 academic year, according to the 2012 Open Doors Report by the International Educational Exchange. International education exchange contributed $ 22.7 billion to the U.S. economy in 2012, and a diverse student population on college campuses benefits domestic students by exposing them to a more global view.
Several live video presentations are available during the full day virtual event. Educational advisors from Education USA, a network of advising centers in 170 countries within Education and Cultural Affairs at the U.S. Department of State, will lead several presentations.
