Audio-Digest Foundation announces the release of Psychology Volume 02, Issue 16: Developmental and Cultural Considerations in the Treatment of Teenage Substance Abuse.
The goal of this program is to improve the management of alcohol and drug abuse in adolescents, particularly those with Hispanic/Latino ethnicity. After hearing and assimilating this program, the clinician will be better able to:
1. Counsel teenage patients about risks associated with binge drinking.
2. Build a therapeutic relationship with a teen who has been referred for substance abuse counseling.
3. Exhibit sensitivity to cultural distinctions that affect substance abuse behaviors and receptiveness to treatment.
4. Use principles of guided self-change to help adolescent patient reduce their levels of drug and alcohol consumption.
5. Recognize developmental influences on a patients drinking and drug use
