A keynote address by Marc Freedman, founder and CEO of Encore.org, an outstanding non-profit supporting encore careers for older Americans, will open the Seventh Annual International Conference on Positive Aging, being co-hosted by the Institute for the Ages and Fielding Graduate University in partnership with the Life Planning Network. The conference, to be held February 9-12, 2014 at Sarasota, Floridas Hyatt Regency, is a highly interactive gathering of diverse leaders shaping the future for older adults throughout the world. Susan Stamberg, special correspondent for National Public Radio and former co-host of NPRs award-winning news magazine, All Things Considered, will deliver the closing keynote.
The 2014 conference theme is Positive Aging Transcends: The Voices of Innovation and Community. It is aimed at highlighting the organizations main areas of interest: wellness, creativity, transitions and community, along with a new, fifth topic, technology. The events structure mirrors the vision of the Institute for the Ages: catalyzing innovation, engaging communities and evangelizing positive aging.

Professionals from established and emerging businesses, academic research, governmental policy, entrepreneurship and social service will gather together for two and half days of breakout sessions, keynote presentations, workshops, tours and social events. The program is designed to offer attendees ample opportunity to network or to meet in small groups as they fill their days with sessions in their areas of interest.
Presentations are organized by the five main topics; they address issues and trends in healthcare technologies, housing and environments, life transitions and the psychology of aging, human performance and positive approaches to the care continuum, to name a few.
